Alternative Methodology for Occupational Dose Estimation in Cardiac Electrophysiology Procedures

چکیده
Fluoroscopy-guided cardiac electrophysiology procedures are among the most critical x-ray exposures. However, occupational doses still little-known. In this study, an alternative methodology was developed to estimate dose and evaluated its optimization in electro-physiology procedures. The were reproduced by simulation rates of staff measured at chest eyes height through electronic dosimeters. rate for different modes operation FOV evaluated. estimated product staff's position room, median time exposure mean these performed HCPA 2019. As a result, it observed that decreasing order Physician A - R Nursing Staff Radiographer B Supplier, with following values mSv/year 6.16 3.98 2.54 2.17, respectively. 37.04% reduction change FOV, up 59.26% acquisition 31.82% distancing 50 cm from exposed position. is significant. due protocols already implemented HCPA, accordance recommended limits. actions verified suggested proper selection adoption distance source.

Radiation Dose and Cancer Risk of Cardiac Electrophysiology Procedures
Electrophysiology study (EPS) and radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) are widely used for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. EPS and RFCA are very complicated procedures, requiring extended periods of time and advanced technologies that vary according to the disease of the patients. Fluoroscopy is used during EPS and RFCA to guide the catheter through the vessels while view...
متن کاملAlternative Estimation Procedures to OLS
Alternative Estimation Procedures to OLS We have seen that OLS does a nice job in model estimation when the CLRM assumptions are met. We have also seen that violations of the CLRM lead to inefficiency and estimators that are not BLUE. We have also seen that the model y=Xβ+ε can be transformed to produce estimators that are BLUE. We now consider additional estimation techniques to least squares....
متن کاملFetus Dose Estimation in Computed Tomography Procedures
Computed Tomography (CT) procedures constitute the 5% of the total diagnostic radiology and provide more than the 40% of the total dose. Patient dose depends on many factors; most of them depend on the way the procedure is performed. All around the world, there is a growing interest in studying patient dose in CT procedures in order to optimize them. If the patient is pregnant, conceptus absorb...

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to retrospectively evaluate the patient effective dose (ED) for different PET/CT procedures performed with a variety of PET radiopharmaceutical compounds. PET/CT studies of 210 patients were reviewed including Torso (n = 123), Whole body (WB) (n = 36), Head and Neck Tumor (HNT) (n = 10), and Brain (n = 41) protocols with 18FDG (n = 170), 11C-CHOL (n = 10), 1...
متن کاملRemote Magnetic Navigation for Accurate, Real-time Catheter Positioning and Ablation in Cardiac Electrophysiology Procedures
New remote navigation systems have been developed to improve current limitations of conventional manually guided catheter ablation in complex cardiac substrates such as left atrial flutter. This protocol describes all the clinical and invasive interventional steps performed during a human electrophysiological study and ablation to assess the accuracy, safety and real-time navigation of the Cath...
